MAMMU is the first Latvian social fashion brand, which collaborates with young mothers and creates unique linen, jersey and silk scarfs. It was established in June 2010 and the authors of the idea are social investor Andris Rubīns, author of logo – Jānis Birznieks and webpage creator – Oskars Cirsis. Creative director is Fion Dobin (German), who studied design at Berlin University of Arts. Label follows Grameen social business principles – the main goal is the provision of social benefits for involved mothers.
When offering a workplace, MAMMU provides mothers with flexible working hours, social well-being, training and materials. This means that they can handle both – working and raising a child. The result is high quality and original design accessories: scarfs. In cooperation with young mothers label also offers basic T-shirts, but wooden clothes hangers and swings are made by Latvian pensioners.
